So, you want to ride RAW this year? Of course you do….who wouldn’t? The epic one-day or two-day challenge is coming up the last weekend in August. What better timing than to be part of the training camp being held the last weekend in July! The camp is being hosted by P3 – Peak Performance Professionals with the support of Team Sports, Inc. We will be based out of Hazel Green, about 15 miles from the start of RAW. This will give “campers” a chance to ride the hills on the western end of the course. In the inaugural year, surveys said that people underestimated them a bit and they have not gotten any smaller! Riders also indicated that they felt more time in the saddle would be good so the weekend will offer two full days of riding to help with that!

The professional trainers at P3 have developed a program to get you ready to Ride Across Wisconsin.

Can’t make the fun training camp? You can still use this training program developed by the experts at P3 to help you get ready to Ride Across Wisconsin and finish feeling great!

Arrangements have been made for accommodations at the Ambrosia Inn or the Stagecoach Inn in Hazel Green and a Saturday night gathering at Anton’s Saloon in New Diggings, where rest stop #1 is located! There are other places to stay within a few miles of camp if you want to investigate those as space is limited in Hazel Green. Want to bring a significant other who won’t be riding? The tourist attractions of Galena are only 10 miles away.

How about this for a hotel room?

Riders will roll out Saturday morning at 8am for two loops of an 80 mile ride in the “hill country”. This will be their opportunity to see the western end of the course as well as the New Diggings rest stop area. On Sunday the ride will start at 8am for 50 miles of riding, heading east to the second RAW rest stop area at the Holland Family Farm. For the more ambitious….riders can continue to Monroe and back to get a century in that day. Depending on the number of riders, we are planning on having groups based on an average speed range with a ride leader for each group. (e.g. 12-14 mph, 14-16 mph, 16+mph).

What else do you get? SAG support will be provided and rest stop areas for re-fueling. After the ride on Saturday the group will get together for a course talk, how to plan for ride day, nutrition and training tips.

Not an old silo, but still pretty nice digs at the Stagecoadh Inn!

Cost: $75 if registered for RAW, $125 if not yet registered
Limited to 30 riders
