More than
2,275 people registered as participants in the Bike Fed's 2010 Bike to Work Week activities, June 6-11. They represented more than 275 workplaces across the state and reported commuting
more than 100,000 miles by bike during Bike to Work Week.
By biking instead of driving to work, registered participants in Bike to Work Week:
- burned 3,606,550 calories1
- saved $56,703 in vehicle costs2
- prevented 41 tons of carbon dioxide emissions3
- prevented 5,129 pounds of carbon monoxide emissions4
- saved 4,192 gallons of gasoline5
