Early this morning I left Milwaukee and ended up in the strangely warm, low-humidity, absurdly-blue-sky paradise of Santa Fe, New Mexico. I’m here in Santa Fe to attend the every-other-year IMBA World Summit.
The Bike Fed has been working hard to advocate for and promote Wisconsin off-road just as strongly as we do the concrete and pavement bicycling. I’m very excited to meet many new people at the Summit and to learn even more from IMBA, an organization that I’ve grown to respect as a professional, technically savvy, get sh** done sort of organization.
Early this year IMBA and the Bike Fed formed a one-of-a-kind partnership. Read more here. Both IMBA and the Bike Fed are working hard to make sure Wisconsin off-road interests are organized and that Wisconsin rises to the top-of-the-heap with truly epic mountain bike destinations.
My trip is sponsored by the Wisconsin Off-Road Bicycling Association (WORBA). As we announced earlier this year, WORBA will soon fully become a program of the Bike Fed however the outgoing leadership of WORBA saw it as important to send me here. A big thanks also goes to IMBA who sponsored my Summit registration. Thank you WORBA and IMBA.
This week I’ll let y’all know what I learn and see out here in Santa Fe. In the meantime…
